Developers and users alike should continue to use ``python conanfile.py`` installation. - When using C++ wrapped sensor objects (CSS, thrusters, reaction wheels), Python references must be explicitly retained to prevent premature garbage collection. The recommended approach is to store these objects directly on your simulation object. For example: .. code-block:: python :linenos: # Create and configure a CSS device cssDevice = coarseSunSensor.CoarseSunSensor() cssDevice.ModelTag = "css1" # Store it on the simulation object to keep it alive scSim.cssDevice = cssDevice # Prevents garbage collection Alternatively, for multiple devices, you can use a list or registry: .. code-block:: python :linenos: # Store multiple devices scSim.css_devices = [] for i in range(4): cssDevice = coarseSunSensor.CoarseSunSensor() cssDevice.ModelTag = f"css{i}" scSim.css_devices.append(cssDevice) See specific documentation for: - :ref:`coarsesunsensor` - :ref:`reactionWheelStateEffector` - :ref:`thrusterDynamicEffector` For working examples, refer to these scenarios: - :ref:`scenarioAttitudeFeedback` - :ref:`scenarioCSS` Failure to retain references will cause segmentation faults when accessing collected objects.
